Goods Receipt
A goods receipt occurs when there is a receipt of material from a vendor
or from your company’s in-house production process. Many other
types of goods receipt are also found in the SAP system, including

locations Goods Movements
initial stock creation, which is used when SAP software is first implemented.
A goods receipt of material from whatever source creates an
increase in stock levels. Figure 3.3 shows a typical goods receipt for
two materials.
Goods Issue
A goods issue is a reduction of stock triggered when there is a shipment
to your customer or a withdrawal of stock for use in a production
order. Other goods issues can be for a sample or to scrap if the
material is damaged. A goods issue is the final process of an outbound
delivery. Figure 3.4 shows a typical goods issue of two materials from
storage location 900A that will be moved from inventory and consumed.
